March 18, 201214 yr Does anyone know what do when you loose your thumbdrive i moved and have misplaced it... i installed unraid to a new thumbstick but it shows up that all my disks are new and im afraid to start the server... Please help I can view my drive in ubuntu. i know i could erase my parity drive from within ubuntu and store data there while i add each drive and recopy the data but that seems to be such a long process...
March 18, 201214 yr Email [email protected] to get your license transferred to the new flash drive. You'll then need to re-assign the data drives again, and then rebuild parity. Check the wiki for instructions, post back if you get stuck.
March 18, 201214 yr Author so... is this right? boot the new unraid thumbstick... assign parity and data disks... and then just start the array and it will find all the old data and rebuild the parity?
March 19, 201214 yr Author OK EVERYONE!!! Here is what i did... in case you were wondering... Thanks to speeding_ant :-) started my unraid box with the new thumbstick loaded with the latest stable version of unraid 4.7 assigned my disks under the devices tab (I have my disks arranged a special way to help me know where my parity drive is so my guess was lucky make sure u dont assign a data drive to the parity slot) Started the array Unraid made my data disk icons green and the parity orange now it is rebuilding the parity disk... had to re enable user shares and all my shares showed up... I'm happy as a clown now thank you so much!!!
