Wait for 5 release?

Featured Replies

I am ready to build a system for unraid.  My question is should I wait for 5.0 final or build off of one of the beta releases?  I have over 500 movies and the though of having to rip them again from disc is painful...  Thoughts??

so long as you do your research on parts you are fine to build a server now.

I have a number of servers in my house and I mostly only use 4.7 for testing purposes.  I have a 5.0b of some sort running on my other machines.

I guess my only concern after looking at the two boards I have on my list is the NIC...  Asus m5a88-m or 5a78l-m both have the 8111E...

Thanks!

5.0b14 should work just fine.

I was wondering the same thing.  I recently built a system and I'm waiting to boot it up.  What version should I install with the following hardward:

MOBO: Supermicro MBD-X9SCM-F-O

CPU: Intel Core i3-2120 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz LGA 1155 65W

No add on card as of now bc I only have 5 drives

Thanks

Should I install 4.7 first and then upgrade or just straight install rc5 or rc6?

Straight install rc5 or RC6

there is no upgrader or something like that ...

and if you install 4.7 first then you will have t run the permissions script ...

better go straight for the 5 series
