unraid server crash after 45 min

Featured Replies

My unraid server crashes after 30~45 minutes. It is a new build. I removed the USB from my old server and plugged it into the new one. I do not think this will cause any problems. I disabled the docker and VM but it still crashes.

Any help is appreciated as I am still newbie :)

My server is

intel i9-14900K

Gigabyte AORUS ELITE AX MB

64GB

nvme+4 HDD

Have you done memtest?

  • Community Expert

By ‘crash’ do you mean is stays powered on but stops responding?

The syslog in the diagnostics is the RAM copy and only shows what happened since the reboot.   It could be worth enabling the syslog server to get a log that survives a reboot so we can see what happened prior to the reboot. The mirror to flash option is the easiest to set up, but if you are worried about excessive wear on the flash drive you can put your server’s address into the Remote Server field.

I will try it and post the result

And where is that? The one posted is the normal syslog.

Looks like it is, it shows the Unraid driver crashing, that is almost always a hardware issue, start by running memtest, or since memtest is only definitive if it finds errors, and if you have multiple sticks try using the server with just one, if the same try with a different one, that will basically rule out bad RAM.

I run it. it is passed successfully without any errors.

I have the following driver installed

1- Intel-GPU-TOP

2- Nvidia-Driver

3- RTL8125(B) PCI Drivers

If errors persist after that, there's likely some other failing part, though in some cases there could be a kernel compatibility issue, so also good to test with v7 to rule that out.

So, I updated the server to 7 RC1. It worked fine for two days, then crashed again. The only way to access it is by hard rest.

Not seeing anything relevant logged this time, still suggesting a hardware issue.

Unraid itself has a driver. When it is crashing, then

Unraid driver is still crashing, since you have a 14900K, it could be the Intel 13/14 gen issue.

I replaced the CPU under an Intel warranty, which has been running for two days. I hope this resolves the crash problem.

However, suddenly, all my Docker web interfaces are not working. This issue is with Docker using the bridge interface. The Docker local IP is showing as 172.17.x.x, while the routing table entry for the Docker bridge interface is displaying as 172.18.x.x.

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Can't help with that, suggest creating a new post in the Docker engine subforum.
