December 5, 20241 yr I have a situation where I never changed any permissions on a share. Yet, this share has several folders that are visible to my Windows desktop on the shared drive mapping and visible to the Plex Docker, except for one folder. When I pull up the Windows File Explorer, the folder is accessible; however, all the files are missing. Plex also doesn't see the files in the folder. Listing the share contents through the Unraid GUI shows 43 files in the folder. How can I fix this? Thanks, Dale
December 5, 20241 yr Community Expert Try running the New Permissions tool ( TOOLS >>>> New Permissions ) on just the Share that has the problem. (It sounds like there is a 'bit' mis-set in that directory/folder's permissions.) Edited December 5, 20241 yr by Frank1940

(It sounds like there is a 'bit' mis-set in that directory/folder's permissions.) Thanks. I did that and the files appeared to Windows and Plex. However I need to replace some of the files in this folder from my Windows desktop and it fails telling me to remove the write protection. I went into the WebGUI console and could delete the files it was giving me the error, but still would not let me copy the new files to the folder; same write protection error. So the folder must be set to not allow anything to write to it.
December 5, 20241 yr Community Expert Can you write to the other folders in this share? Edited December 5, 20241 yr by Frank1940
December 5, 20241 yr Community Expert Second thought. Run New Permissions again that Share again. (Not being able to see inside that directory may have prevented it from fixing permissions and owner/group...)

I went through the Webgui console and used MC to CHMODE the permission settings on the folder (write permissions were turned off). That took care of the problem I was having. Thanks!
