actually i dont see any fails, you can change the following setting (but doesnt bother now and has nothing todo with non working now)

The plugin generally doesn't work, it doesn't depend on which mode it is in. The error message only appears in only mode.

  • Yes , only unbinding than reboot makes the gpu free than I attach it to VM and than it works for VM only and cannot be used for docker containers . To make it work for docker container i have to bind

now to start debug a little

please start play a file (either Plex or vlc smb or ...) and check those commands (seated to your setup)

disk and cache

## regular mode

ls -alrt /proc/[0-9]*/fd/* 2> /dev/null | grep -i "/disk" | grep -E "Filme" | grep -E ".mkv|.mp4" | sed '$!d'

ls -alrt /proc/[0-9]*/fd/* 2> /dev/null | grep -i "/cache" | grep -E "Filme" | grep -E ".mkv|.mp4" | sed '$!d'

should return something like this

lr-x------ 1 root   root    64 Feb  2 07:24 /proc/14518/fd/26 -> /mnt/cache/Media/TVRIPS/Supernatural/Season\ 09/Supernatural\ -\ S09E06\ -\ Der\ Himmel\ soll\ nicht\ warten.mkv*

###

then, for plex lookup if all is good (replace 2x YOUR_TOKEN_HERE with yours)

curl -s -H "Accept: application/json" http://192.168.250.110:32400/status/sessions?X-Plex-Token=YOUR_TOKEN_HERE | \
jq '.MediaContainer.Metadata[]?.key' | \
xargs -I{} sh -c 'curl -s -H "Accept: application/json" '192.168.250.110':'32400'{}?X-Plex-Token=YOUR_TOKEN_HERE | jq .MediaContainer.Metadata[].Media[].Part[].file' | \
sed 's|{||g;s|}||g;s|"NowPlayingItem":||g;s|"||g;s|^[ \t]*||;/^[[:space:]]*$/d' | sed '$!d'

should return something like this

/mnt/user/Media/TVRIPS/Supernatural/Season 09/Supernatural - S09E06 - Der Himmel soll nicht warten.mkv

###

please let me know what your results are, then i can dive deeper.

ok, how did you open a file when i may ask ? also Plex or any other way ?

this was the entry for "gerneral mode"

ok, thats fine

so, lets stay on Mediaserver Mode only for now, when you run a file in Plex, we end in the upper error you posted and nothing else, correct ?

may start with changing your rewrite rule from /Filme:/mnt/disk1/Filme to /Filme:/mnt/user/Filme ... otherwise you wont have any benefit from caching besides the current playback only anyway, also your Plex should be setup like this ...

/mnt/user/ ... otherwise your cache is "invisible" for Plex.

when you read at the recommended posts you will see what i mean,

Plex cant benefit if /Filme is nailed to /mnt/disk1/Filme ... it ll work until stop, next show, ... after a copy (which aint working currently at your place, i know), but even if, your setup is not made for cache usage anyhow currently.

what wonders me, you dont have a "real open file" when using the 1st commands ...

so to cross check vs other commands, may again open a file and do also

lsof -a /mnt/cache/ | grep -i "mkv"

lsof -a /mnt/disk1/ | grep -i "mkv"

but also again cross testing with upper commands, i just would like to see why there are no open files ... while playback is running.

Playback with the Plex app for Android on an Nvidia Shield.

the error is coming with the cronjob, is have nothing to do with playback of any video.

i have set the plex docker from disk1 to user. and now the upper commands give feedback.

Plex cant benefit if /Filme is nailed to /mnt/disk1/Filme ... it ll work until stop, next show, ... after a copy (which aint working currently at your place, i know), but even if, your setup is not made for cache usage anyhow currently.

but with the configuration Disk1 the caching have working in previous version

it works, but only until you would stop a playback

to explain workflow

1/ plugin copy the file to cache

2/ plugin switches "low level" file access to cache device

now, /cache is for plex completely out of scope in your setup, so yes, it works when i switch "low level" as Plex doesnt recognise the switch and the proc Kernel is handling this, UNTIL ... you stop a playback and want to resume, then Plex will start from his only known disk1 access ... /mnt/user/ instead is accessing vie FUSE so /cache && /disk1, 2, 3, .. is included, now when Plex reopens a file it ll start from cache directly as intended ... or when Servers like Jelly, Emby "loosing" file access and reopens during playback they are on cache, NOT using a FUSE FS or mergerfs ... will only work ONCE after a switch as long file access is steady open, once interrupted ... caching is not working as we all like it to be, benefit from SSD silence ;)

as the respond is pretty "much" ... ;)

may take a look at your dashboard while playing back, is it "direct paly" ? or may "direct stream" only ? or even "transcoding" ?

and this is a error many have (which is more cosmetic while running) which i couldnt reproduce yet.

it should come from jq parsing while fetching Plex playback ... as you saw yourself it looks all ok when you manually run the command, but this is still open here and i look into it.

thanks for the info ... just hard for me to repair something which here never happens ... as soon i can reproduce it, it ll be fixed, but shouldnt affect the function for now.

as we see in your logs it copied, it switched, this is now when parsing to update access times for further processing and when to delete the file/s again. now it prolly wont update access times and will delete pretty close to your setted time (sample 72 hours)

thank you for your plugins and the great support 👍

I'm trying to get the move-cache plugin to work, but unfortunately, it's not working. I'm getting an error in the syslog. I've already tried debugging the issue myself, but I can't really figure out what's causing the problem. Does anyone have an idea?

and no, i wont invest endless times in escaping those [] {} ... from folder names ... i think i even tested them in filenames and escaped there already alot, but i would say there is your issue ... see few pages back, somebody had issues with brackets, after removing all was fine ;)

and @Harrdy if you want to go this way, may also check your Plex mount point

/mnt/user/data <> /mnt/user/data would be ok, /data <> /mnt/user/data you should add this to the rewrite rule

Cycle VM: Is there any plan to allow for multiple VMs or Containers to be managed?

For example: Container 1, VM-A, VM-B all need GPU. Container-1 runs normally (ollama) and should turn off when either VM-A or VM-B are started.

multiply dockers can be added already, which either starts or stops when cycle

/as  multiply dockers can use 1 device like a GPU)

and alternative you can cycle between 2 VM's

so actually i have no idea what you mean currently as extra feature ? ;)

may let me know how it could look like ...

you either cycle betwwen docker1, 2,3, ... <> vm-a OR vm-b OR vm-c (already can be done, just enter the VM you wish)

or you can cycle between vm-a <> vm-b <> vm-c ... (just enter the VM you wish)

may i missunderstand your question, besides adding another input field as option so you dont need to manually enter the VM Name ?

Hi, I love the idea of the cache-mover but I'm really struggling to get it to do anything. I've been through this thread with a fine tooth comb and tried all kinds of settings but I can never get anything to appear in my system log other than this one liner (currently running it every minute).  I have something playing in Plex the entire time and the command to show that file does show me that file (see below)... Any guidance on what I'm doing wrong would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

may as starter, is your pool drive really upper case "Cache" ?

cause it will always show upper case on main page, but its normally called "cache" (lower case)

may also check if the directory for the post processing files exist, /mnt/cache/system/mover

image.thumb.png.d76d602e2e1825ab080734bb92e3a36a.pngI've been trying to get this to work, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong at this point. My cache is called "Cache," and I've tried it with both uppercase and lowercase. image.thumb.png.2296f5be718c597ce6d989a9a24ff26b.pngimage.thumb.png.08c01c0e767cbbf52aab9dff30011e5d.pngimage.thumb.png.8191598c3698f9c6043f2e0cfb1799dd.png

your rewrites are wrong formatted, at least a : missing ...

and it prolly rather woul dbe then something like this

/mnt/user/media:/data/media << also watch Media media lower upper case !!!

image.thumb.png.d728b96db3c22c1290b16d529708d894.png

may also show your docker run <<click<< from plex and a media mount inside plex to make sure

is the folder /mnt/user/system/mover/ there ? or may use your path which is there ?

finally, can the the host reach plex, host access active ?, in terms a custom network is used.

ok, i removed your claim key from here ;)

and looking ok now

may insert only mode again too

image.png.b30109a80895062778d7022534ad675b.png

did you check if your post processing lists path exist ?

ls -la /mnt/user/system/mover/

and if you can reach your plex server from host ? sample while playback running

(copy those 2 line after editing your plex token here instead YOUR_PLEX_TOKEN_HERE)

KEY=$(curl -s "http://192.168.10.10:32400/status/sessions?X-Plex-Token=YOUR_PLEX_TOKEN_HERE" 2> /dev/null | grep -oP 'ratingKey="\K[^"]+')
curl -s "http://192.168.1.10:32400/library/metadata/$KEY?X-Plex-Token=YOUR_PLEX_TOKEN_HERE" 2> /dev/null | grep -oP 'file="\K[^"]+' | grep -E ".mkv|.mp4" | sed '$!d'

this should return something, please post here (edit the token before posting)

thanks but claim key wasn't real

set Media Server Mode: only

run ls -la /mnt/user/system/mover/

came back with /bin/ls: cannot access '/mnt/user/system/mover/': No such file or directory

add PLEX_TOKEN to

KEY=$(curl -s "http://192.168.10.10:32400/status/sessions?X-Plex-Token=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" 2> /dev/null | grep -oP 'ratingKey="\K[^"]+') curl -s "http://192.168.1.10:32400/library/metadata/$KEY?X-Plex-Token=xxxxx-xxxx-xxxx" 2> /dev/null | grep -oP 'file="\K[^"]+' | grep -E ".mkv|.mp4" | sed '$!d'

nothing same back

I also tried changing Postprocessing List: /mnt/user/system/mover/ to /mnt/cache/system/mover/ still nothing
