mount hfsplus drive as read/write

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been able to get my external usb mac-format hfsplus drive to mount, but it will only mount as a read-only file system. I would like to be able to read and write to and from this disc.

I used

mount -w -t hfsplus /dev/sdj /mnt/burns/

The -w is supposed to be read/write, so I suspect I'm missing some other important par of the puzzle. Like an ntfs-3g driver, but for hfsplus.

Googling has been fruitless. Thanks!

Having the same problem myself.  I've tried mounting via unMenu and via command line.  Seems to think it's being mounted as writeable, but when I try to mkdir on the drive I get a Read Only error.

I'm talking out of my butt on this, but have you checked permissions? I'm not even sure it's relevant on hfsplus, but it couldn't hurt to check.

No updates. I went a different route and gave up on it. Ah well.
