March 22, 201214 yr Ok finally got an intel pro/1000 nic to get around the Realtek issue with 4.7, buttoned up, set up, tried to copy 1 file to the system.. INSTANT HANG. When trying to read back... March 22, 201214 yr Dump the MB or the NIC, don't know really. You also tried another NIC causing the same problems, didn't you? Might be a bad MB or MB BIOS settings. Is it a PCI NIC? Can you try it in another PCI slot. Does 5b14 also cause these problems?
March 22, 201214 yr On my workstation, the PCI Intel Pro NIC caused the audio playback to stutter when transferring files. Ri. Dic. U. Lous. I (begrudgingly) went back to the onboard Realtek NIC. Not sure what happened, but I could not figure out a fix. Good luck...

Does 5b14 also cause these problems? #1 second INTEL NIC, the other one wouldn't even show up when I booted #1a I tried a PCI-E NiC that did a similar thing, not INTEL tho, JMicron #2 Only setting in the bios that I can find is enable/disable the onboard nic (yes I did) #3 PCI #4 Only 1 PCI slot #5 Still 4.7, don't want to risk going to 5b-anything till I figure this out... Think I'm going MB Shopping tonight
March 23, 201214 yr If you gonna stick with 4.7 you will need another NIC or another MB. Maybe there is BIOS update for the MB?
