December 13, 20241 yr I was upgrading from three disks into one so I didn't have parity going yet. I was rechecking and moving files around on qBittorrent and got a ton of these errors. After finding out what the cause was, and after the moving was done, I fixed it. What I'm worried about is this files. Do the errors mean that it Unraid realized the mistake and all the files landed safely? Or does it mean that these files are stealthily borked? I read the Unraid documentation about CRC error and still not sure what the verdict is, especially since I didn't have parity. If you think there likely are borked files, how do I go about finding and replacing them? Thanks in advance. rainbowbridge-diagnostics-20241213-1441.zip
December 13, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution CRC errors are communication issues between drive and controller, they get corrected by retries so no issues with data.
December 13, 20241 yr Community Expert Before you ask, they are usually caused by bad SATA data cables or loose data cable connections. Reseat all cables after working inside the server case and then visually inspect each one before buttoning the case backup.

Thanks for that. 25 minutes ago, Frank1940 said: Before you ask, they are usually caused by bad SATA data cables or loose data cable connections. The cable was loose and the metal clip was toast. Good advice, I'll do that from now on.
December 14, 20241 yr Community Expert Another point about CRC errors is that the count never resets after curing the cause. The fix therefore will simply stop it increasing any further.
