Can't access webgui after deleting config folder contents

Featured Replies

After deciding to start fresh and reading an article instructing to delete the contents of the config folder, minus the .key file and rebooting, I found myself not being able to access the Unraid Web Interface. I can sign into my server via monitor/keyboard access, but I'm not able to access it remotely.

I'm not trying to restore it, I really just wanted to factory reset it, assign new IP and everything if possible.

Sorry and thank you for your time!

Copy config folder from the download zip, or just recreate the flash.

All of your configuration is in the config folder, including your disk assignments and your license. Are you sure you wanted to get rid of all of that?

Dynamix Factory Reset plugin is a better approach.

Definitely recreating the flash then! Is it as simple as just reformatting the usb and just going through the unraid installer?

This is the way. I had just started on my unraidOS journey, and I really mostly learn by breaking and fixing unfortunately.

Definitely will be using that plugin in the future though, thank you so much!

It should be, but make certain that you have a backup of your old ‘config’ folder with all your settings.

Where you went wrong initially is by not starting with the standard default ‘config’ folder and then only overwriting from your backup some of the files you wanted to replace.
