Setting up a Beelink - the internal drive and moving an existing hdd

Featured Replies

Hey everyone.  I'm trying to setup Unraid (6.12.14) on a Beelink Mini S12 for the purposes of moving my Plex server off my Windows gaming pc onto a dedicated server.  I have a four bay harddrive enclosure, but it's currently empty and my only drive right now is an 8TB hdd that's in my gaming pc for media purposes.  I have Unraid setup on the Beelink, but as of right now I have no harddrives attached.  It's just the 512GB internal hdd that comes in the Beelink and it's currently listed as unmountable.  I was hoping to have Plex and everything set up on the Beelink before I move over my 8TB hdd, because I'm worried about losing all my media on it before moving it over.

So I have two questions:

1. Can I format the Beelink's 512GB hdd so that I can use it or will this brick the Beelink or otherwise cause problems?
2. Can I move my 8TB hdd from my gaming pc to the Beelink without losing all of the files that are on it or will I have to reformat the whole thing to work with Unraid on the Beelink?
