BINHEX-PLEXPASS will not start ... ERROR - SQLITE3 ... attempt to write a readonly database

Featured Replies

I have binhex-plexpass installed on my server.

After finding some corruption, I tried repair options and now PLEX will not restart ... log shows the error listed in the title of this topic.

Can this be fixed or will I need to completely remove PLEX, reinstall and repopulate?

Thanks, TT

Here is some background:

After an 800ish day run of my server without reboot or updates, I have had a couple of hardware issues that I have overcome in the past couple of months ... bad 8TB drive and then bad 256GB cache.

Both have been replaced.

I had 6 docker containers installed before the cache issue but could not remove or edit any containers.  After replacing the cache, all containers were gone and reinstalled binhex-plexpass.  I have then spent the last few days rebuilding the new plex by adding the libraries from both my Unraid server and the from my NAS (a QNAP)

Tried to play a tv series that is presently in the 12 season.  Plex database was showing 36 seasons!  Poster was from another series as well.  When trying to play S12E02, it was playing some other tv show.  Noticed that there were in fact about 11 versions of S12E02, all pointing to different series and episodes.

Using the information on https://github.com/binhex/documentation/blob/master/docker/faq/plex.md, I ran through all 4 options to repair database.

Checked Plex after each option and the 11 versions of S12E02 remained.  After the 4th "low-level recovery" Plex would not restart.

Error log shows the following:
ERROR - SQLITE3:0x80000001, 8, statement aborts at 2: [PRAGMA journal_mode=WAL] attempt to write a readonly database
ERROR - Promise destroyed without handling exception: Promise fell out of scope without resolving or rejecting

I will probably? have to remove the binhex-plexpass container and reinstall.  If so, how can this be done cleaning to ensure the database corruption does not reoccur?

Thanks

I tried to post there and it stated that only developers could post there.  Apparently a moderator can move my topic to that section?

Well, gonna assume the installation got screwed up as I installed the Binhex-PlexPass container and started setting it up BEFORE I noticed that the new CACHE drive was not formatted.

Binhex-PlexPass was adding items to the library while the CACHE was being formated and initiated.  I think that might have messed up the database.

I will totally remove the Binhex-PlexPass container and reinstall and then rebuild the libraries.

clarified the name of the container

Really struggling here ... I uninstalled the BINHEX-PLEXPASS and then reinstalled ... It is simply using the old corrupted database and will not run.

I installed the PLEX container and it is now running and the movie database is being populated ... BUT I much prefer the BINHEX-PLEXPASS version.  This is not available in the simple PLEX container.

How do I remove the BINHEX-PLEXPASS completely so that I can reinstall and get it running and then slowly readd all the libraries?

Cheers.
