Does AD work in 5.0 Beta14?

Featured Replies

I manage to join unRAID to our domain here but it will not authorize any login. I tired doing a wbinfo -i domain\user and it said it failed. Anyone know a work around to the problem or do I maybe have something setup wrong? I can do a wbinfo -u and get all the users of the domain so I know I am connected to the domain.

Thanks for the help.

In my experience, no this does not. And it seems like the version of Winbind/Samba is to blame.

Apparently, there was an update rolled into the code for Winbind/Samba which broke this functionality. The version of these components in 4.7 works flawlessly.

Unless you know how to roll back Winbind/Samba to an earlier version, I think AD integration will not be possible on 5b14.

I am happy to be proven wrong though, as I really do like the 5.x interface.

Well that is no good. I will have to figure something out for this or decide if I want to use my 3TB drives or AD :-/

so this works

root@Leviathan:~# wbinfo -a coop0409

Enter coop0409's password:

plaintext password authentication succeeded

Enter coop0409's password:

challenge/response password authentication succeeded

root@Leviathan:~#

This also works.

root@Leviathan:/etc# kinit [email protected]

Password for [email protected]:

root@Leviathan:/etc#

But it does not work when logging in to a share :-/
