[SOLVED] Cannot Browse Server Using //tower/ From A Mac

Featured Replies

I read a post about this recently, but I can't seem to find it again. I cannot browse my server using //tower/ in Safari address bar. I can use the IP address (http://192.XXX.XXX.XXX/), but that gets be a bit of a hassle when navigating, as I have to replace my server name every time I click a link from unmenu.

I set the server as the local master per the wiki, but still no luck. It seems like I need to add a static entry on my mac to resolve that name, but I can't find the thread where it was discussed.

Open Terminal

sudo nano /etc/hosts

add

192.XXX.XXX.XXX tower

reboot or might work right away.
