Parity Disk disabled automatically

Featured Replies

I discovered through fix common problems that my parity drive has been disabled. I recently replaced this drive. I ordered several on black friday from Amazon. It looks like I got used drives instead of new. I don't mind used drives in general, but not for backups or recovery drives. I have a few questions as I am not new to NAS / Unraid, but I am not an expert either.

Is this a real issue?

Is it a replace it now issue, or do I have some time?

I have posted the full disk log below; the issue that caught my eye is:

9 Power_On_Hours          -O--CK   100   100   ---    -    38556             (1,606 days, I've only had it less than a month)

232 Perc_Avail_Resrvd_Space PO--CK   100   100   004    -    100      (Outside threshold)

Any help or info you can offer is greatly appreciated.

It's logged as a disk problem, but there's no SMART since the disk dropped offline (the report you posted above is from an SSD), check/replace cables for parity and post new diags.

It seems to have answered my question itself. The cables are fine, but the drive has become unresponsive. Replaced it with a spare drive and it is currently performing a parity rebuild. It seems the drive was either defective or died. I was unable to get SMART or any data logs due to the drive failure and being unable to reconnect to the drive. Thank you for your help.
