Server unresponsive

Featured Replies

Apologises if this has been covered before, this is my first ever issue with Unraid.

I currently have two NAS boxes, both running 7.0.0-rc2, one box in my jonsbo case and that is my newer setup and no problems at all.

My other fractal node 8 with asus x99-m MB, which has been great and sold me the dream of buying more boxes ,it just randomly stops responding and all docker service stop. The only answer is to hard boot, though starting a parity check every time.  The only reasonable change i did to that box was go from Xeon 12c/24t to a 2699v4 22c/44t cpu after checking the motherboard supports that cpu.

The logs always seem empty only containing the entries from the time of the reboot. Where can i find older logs?

Any guidance would be truly grateful.

And the persistent syslog?

  • Author

Hi all, i was unsure what you meant by persistent syslog other than the ones i have provided which are the diagnostic and exporrted syslog files. also it has been great for the last days.

Then sods law it died tonight, so i have attached the logs that been held on my other server as a syslog smb

Persistent log shows Nvidia related crashes, try running the server without the GPU (or just uninstall the Nvidia driver) and retest.

Have removed and rebooted, then installed new driver, stop and started docker, will awat if that helps.

@JorgeB thank you soo much

Hi, it failed it as in middle of rsync task which i have to ensure data the same across two servers and just disappeared.

The graphics card is a T1000 Nvidia card, is this supported? if not what would be a good easy card i could use, used to run GTX1080 but was an overkill and power hungry.

as its a Xeon server and wanted to see stats, the GPU remained. i set up tdarr and set off to convert my library and currently 6 days (touch wood) constant running.

The GPU is being used a lot with the encode/decode action.

I don't know  it is classed as solved as i await my testing period and its happy away, its good enough to close.

thanks to all who helped..

I am running a very similar setup, X99-E ASUS with a E5-2697a and T600. I had serious errors happening from APCI, I would hook up a monitor to the video out and watch the console for any error messages and see if the PC is becoming unresponsive even locally.. I would also watch the "Logs" in unraid after you boot. This is where I found most of my APCI errors.. I ended up having to add a parameter to the grub boot config to resolve my issues.

Hope this helps!
