December 25, 20241 yr I'm looking to have my unraid server rebuilt in the coming months with a new drive configuration and was wondering if this is possible. Hardware: 2 - 2.5" HDD - 5TB each 4 - 3.5" HDD - 24TB each 4 - M.2 NVME - 2TB each 1 - M.2 NVME - 4TB for HDD cache drives. 1 - Asus Hyper M.2 x16 Pcie Card v2 (for 4 x 2TB NVME) Proposed configuration: looking to have 3 data pools configured. Pool #1 will have 4 x 3.5 HDDs for long-term storage (with 1 parity disk) Pool #2 will have 4 x NVME drives for short-term storage and fast daily disk access (with 1 parity disk) Pool #3 will have 2 x 2.5 HDDs for temporary files (disk mirroring configuration) The cache NVME would be configured for the 2 HDD pools only (is this possible or would I need a second cache drive for the 2 HDD pools?). Thanks in advance for your support. Edited December 25, 20241 yr by augustin7725 additional info and typo correction
