No video all VM's after storage upgrade

Featured Replies

Hello,

I had a working GPU passthrough and Windows 11 VM. After I installed a new nvme ssd and hdd, I have not been able to get video out working from the VM's I have with NVME and GPU passthrough enabled.

I replaced a failing HDD and added an additional NVME drive. The NVME drive location was changed from the 1st slot to the 3rd slot on the mobo. I am not 100% sure if the drive that I moved from the 1st to the 3rd slot was the windows vm boot drive. I moved the drives back to thier original locations as a troubleshooting step without any changes in the  video out.

I am able to boot the VM's with vnc only and remote view into them with the operating system fully booted. I can also boot another VM that is on a vdisk, not a nvme passthrough and that vm will output video perfectly.

Linux and windws vm's with nvme passthrough will no work after having previously worked without issue.

I've tried extracting the vbios and adding it the to the config, no change. I've tried new VM's with SEABIOS and i44fx, no change. Changes CPU cores, changed RAM values, changed pci passthroughs, nothing worked.

Please help! Thank you.

UPDATE:

I resolved my issue by plugging back in my hdmi dummy plug. Not sure why but this was the fix.
