VM Migratable option in Unraid 7

Featured Replies

Hi,

as the title suggests, I noticed a new option in Unraid 7 under the VM settings with an on/off switch for “migratable VM”.

Could someone explain what this means? Does it allow us to migrate a VM from, say, Unraid server A to Unraid server B?

Thanks in advance!

No, it is enabled by default. Turing off can provide additional performance increase hence the option has been added. For a VM to be migrated across hosts QEMU reduces the available cpu features. No plans in current pipeline to support migration between hosts.
