[SOLVED] Folders on 3TB disk not showing up in main usershares with other disks

Featured Replies

Hello, I've just added a 3TB parity and data drive to my 14 disk unRAID server and unfortunately any folders I add to the 3TB data drive do not show up in my usershares.

For example everything in \\tower\disk1\Lossless Music Collection, \\tower\disk2\Lossless Music Collection etc until \\tower\disk12\Lossless Music Collection all appear under the mapped drive letter Z:\Lossless Music Collection in my computer, but anything added to the 3TB \\tower\disk13\Lossless Music Collection does not appear in Z:\Lossless Music Collection. Why is this? I thought 3TB drives were supported now?

Also there is a HPA? in mymenu next to both 3TB drives. I've run the hdparm -N and it states HPA is disabled. How do I run Set drive hpa_ok attribute to 1 to ignore and is this OK to do in my situation? Both drives report size 2930266532.

Syslog attached.

Thanks for any help. :)

Run the "permissions" script on the Utils tab.  It will probably fix the permissions so you can see the folders.  (I'm guessing you made the directories from the linux prompt and not from windows.)

As far as MyMain, it has a list of disk sizes it recognizes, and yours is probably not in the list.  Ask your question in the customizations forum about that.  send bjp999 a PM and he'll add the size of your drive when it is confirmed it is a valid size.    As far as 3TB drives being supported, they are by unRAID.  The add-ons have nothing to to with unRAID.  Most of us who have written them try pretty hard to keep them working with all versions, you seem impatient.

There is a solution for that though.  unMENU is all just a series of scripts, all editable by anybody.  You can look at the scripts and find the solution of fix anything you like that is broken.  You can EVEN add the size of your 3TB disk to the set of expected sizes.  I think it is in the MyMain.conf file.

Then you too can contribute to make everybody who follows you have fewer issues.  (I do not have any 3TB drives in either of my  servers, so you are ahead of me in that experience)

Haha I'm an absolute idiot lol.

I had forgotten to create the root folder on the new 3TB disk13 for the usershare!

I have all my shares grouped together from all drives into a root folder called unRAID so from the example in my first post all my folder were in \\tower\disk1\unRAID\Lossless Music Collection --> \\tower\disk12\unRAID\Lossless Music Collection but disk 13 was uncorrectly named \\tower\disk13\Lossless Music Collection meaning anything in there obviously wasn't present in my computer in Z:\Lossless Music Collection as I have the root unRAID folder mapped as Drive Z on my main PC.

My brain is fried from having to fix a PC problem last night and spending hours reinstalling Win7 and all my apps and games!

All working perfectly now.

Thank you for the quick response.
