Unable to login from NAS when booting with UI?

Featured Replies

I've entered my root user/password and owner user account and password several times and UnRaid refused to login and show the graphical UI?

root is set for console and webGUI access, so confused why it's not working.  I don't get any error message just after I enter my password returns to prompt for user in an endless cycle?

I can login via website on another computer with root or my user account without issue, just can't boot the NAS to UI?

Any suggestions?

hi, similar issue here: trying to setup fresh Unraid 6.12.14 trial today. After setting root's password on WebUI now I can't move past login screen which gives no message (the password is correct; an error is emitted when entering a wrong password on the other hand). Logging in through a console works fine.

Phew, thought it was just me going crazy.

Hope Unraid can find a fix for this.  I run small 7" LCD panels (3U slot) in my server rack and would like to show the GUI so I can see activity at a glance without having to bring up another computer and go thru website URL.

Do you have a really complicated root password with special characters etc?

I used to, but I changed it to simple one and it still didn't work ... unless I need to reboot after changing root password?

IDK

I did test 6.12.14 and had no problems logging in on the local GUI.  If still issues, post your diagnostics after a failed login on local and a successful one via the Web

After some testing I was able to resolve the issue:

Use TAB key after entering your password.

I was using the ENTER key which would not work.

Are you using a standard English keyboard or something else?  Tab doesn't do anything

Standard US keyboard (USB hardwired) ... smaller compact one, but standard (Adesso AKB-110EB)

EDIT: and yes NumLock was OFF

In case you don't believe me, proof:

TAB key worked, ENTER key did not ... ENTER key just brought me back to the UserName: prompt (no error messages)
