Help, I need to add an Nvidia GPU (transcoding) to an already setup Plex server UR 6.12.13

Featured Replies

I set up UnRaid some time ago.  Its primamry purpose is to be the storage and docker host for a plex server.  I installed a Quadro P2200 at system setup, I just realized that I did not setup plex for GPU transcoding.  Is there a way to add this card and HW transcoding without completely re-setting up the plex server?

You should be able to edit your plex container to include the device and as long as your volume mappings aren't changed and your plex appdata is still there all the rest will remain the same.

I can't remember the name of the value, but the place you input the GPU ID from the Nvidia driver wasn't there and the tutorials also listed a runtime=Nvidia string, but didn't give a type for it. I really don't want to start from scratch with the Plex server.

Install the Nvidia Driver if you haven't already.  Instructions for configuring Plex is in the second post of the Nvidia Driver support thread.

Basically adding 2 Variables and an Extra Parameter to your Docker template.
