Cache drive occasionally disappears

Featured Replies

I've been seeing an issue off and on where my cache drive will seemingly randomly disappear which causes docker to crash. So far I haven't been able to determine what is causing the issue. When it does happen, a simple reboot does NOT fix the issue. I have to physically remove the cache drive and re-insert it. The cache drive is a Kingston 1024G SSD KC600 SATA3 MSATA drive of which I only have one as it's used with an Intel DQ77KB mobo. Diagnostics attached.

Most likely a cable.  Remove any power splitter if possible and/or switch connector.  If that doesn't do it, try swapping the sata cable.

It's an mSATA drive, mounted directly on the mobo, so no cables.

Device is dropping offline:

Jan  4 03:00:11 NAS kernel: ata6: reset failed, giving up
Jan  4 03:00:11 NAS kernel: ata6.00: disable device
Jan  4 03:00:11 NAS kernel: ata6: EH complete

Try a different m.2 slot if available, failing that, try a different device.

Replacing the drive seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks for the help @JorgeB!
