SpaceInvader Tailscale + PiHole + ExitNode +GluetenVPN Question

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I thought I would see if anyone else here watched Spaceinvader's 90 minute tutorial on Unraid 7 beta + Tailscale + Pihole + GlutenVPN + Exit nodes. It was a really interesting video if you have not seen it and it encouraged me to upgrade to Unraid 7.

Now as I get to the point, I was able to get everything operational just by following along to a point.

For any Tailscale and Exit Node experts out there.....

1. If we have all DNS traffic running through Pihole as per SpaceInvaders video.... and everything works fine.... Then you select an ExitNode (VPN or otherwise) ... Is it "normal" for the newly Exit Noded traffic to bypass the Pihole container (eventhough the DNS override is selected in Tailscale DNS) ..... but as soon as you remove the client from the Exit Node all DNS again passes through the Tailscaled Pihole Container?

Maybe that is working as intended? I've been querying chatgpt.... but its answers are as usual as asking my cat.

Thanks for any insights.

I am experiencing the same scenario, did you ever figure out a solution?

It would be great to have pinhole work while routing traffic through an exit node.
