Docker Service Fails to Start error message every sunday morning

Featured Replies

The Issue: For approximately the past six weeks, my Docker services have been failing every Sunday morning before 5 a.m. When I log into Unraid and check the Docker tab, I see “Docker service failed to start, the only fix has been rebooting the server, which resolves the issue until the following Sunday.

I run a set of home automations on the servers and the 5:30am ones do not run, but the 4am ones trigger.

The server has been rock solid for years with me getting months of uptime out of it.

What I’ve Tried:

  • Removed the Docker image and reinstalled all containers. (really hoped this would fix the issue)
  • Upgraded to the latest Unraid version.
  • Checked for any scheduled tasks that run on Sunday mornings, as it always happens at same  time.

Diagnostics report is from this morning, before I rebooted the server.

The only thing - I can see that runs on Sunday morning is the trim scheduler at 3am.

The pool has filesystem issues and it's going read only:

Jan  5 05:00:03 Cofre kernel: BTRFS error (device sdf1): incorrect extent count for 67676143616; counted 1345, expected 1337
Jan  5 05:00:03 Cofre kernel: BTRFS: error (device sdf1: state A) in convert_free_space_to_extents:466: errno=-5 IO failure
Jan  5 05:00:03 Cofre kernel: BTRFS info (device sdf1: state EA): forced readonly

With btrfs, suggest backing it up and recreating.

thank you - will back it up and recreate the pool and see if that fixes the issues.
