[RESOLVED] "Error attempting to replace key"?...

Featured Replies

I had my USB drive die (I hope and pray that that is the problem) and flashed a backup onto a new one...went in to swap the license over and I'm getting this non-descript error...

image.thumb.png.b7405aa51d906e20969832c229334b39.png

...I clicked the check box, clicked the button and the error in the top right pops up.  Is this a new thing?  Anyone else had to deal with this?  Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally don't want my server to be down for an extended period of time...I hope it's something simple...fingers crossed...

I reached out to support as well to get that ball rolling in case it's something that needs to be fixed on their end.

Any help greatly appreciated.

It appears that your flash dirive no longer has a guid for unriad licensing.

Most common for this error is using an already blacklisted key as the source, instead of the last valid key, but could also be account or limit related.

The usb is brand new. Limit?...of USBs that can die? I don't understand.

Limit on automatic user transfers, if that is the issue, you need to contact support

Still don't really get it, but I already contacted them, so hope they reply soon.

Thanks.

Once per year per...login?  Like, my experimenting with v7 6 months ago on a totally different machine is why my security cameras, home assistant and TVs haven't worked in ~12 hours now?...

Once per year for any given licence.    If you need to do it sooner for any reason then you have to contact support,   They normally give a reasonably fast turnaround.

That doesn't make sense then...I bought another license for all my v7 adventures...

You can get a transfer failing if the flash drive you are now trying to use does not have a unique GUID and has not previously been used for Unraid.  You need to contact support to proceed if the automated transfer is not working (whatever the reason).

Yea, I already contacted them.  Did that last night and mentioned it at the bottom of my original post.  Just "thinking out loud" trying to figure out what's going on.

Are you sure your server can reach the internet?

Did you use the support portal? Should have gotten a reply by now.

I did by clicking "contact support" here...

Still no response.  Should I do it somewhere else, too?

You should have gotten an automated response immediately after submitting the request.    If you did not then it suggests it did not get through.

I thought I got an automated response but I can't find it...going to submit again.

Got it sorted, everyone.  Anyone else getting a similar error, don't click the "contact support" link in the error...go here and create a ticket.  Always been impressed with Lime's support.  Fantastic as usual.

Thanks, everyone.

I'm suffering exactly the same issue, hopefully I will get contacted soon. I have done this process in the past and it wasn't as annoying

They should get you sorted soon. Best of luck!!

They already contacted me and I got a new key file but I'm stuck getting the same error. I have both tried to copy the new key file to the /config folder and I have also tried to copy/paste the url onto tools/registration menu :/ I have always recommended Unraid to friends but after this kind of issue (and the price increase) I might end up recommending them something else as HexOS

No experience with Hex. I'll stick with unraid. I'm sure they'll get you sorted.

Got my issue sorted, hoping it would fix it and I woke up this morning to a dead server again. Now it's looking like it's hardware related as today I noticed the system health LED on the front flashing red. Yay fun!! lol
