January 9, 20251 yr So I have read many things in this forum for intel arc gpu's. All of them have different way to get it to work. Any one have anything official on how to get it to work. I have not installed my new card yet but would like some instructions on what I will need to do. I currently am on 7.0.0 rc2. I am currently running a Nvidia P2000 card. What will I need to do to get the intel card to work for transcoding for unmanic and Jellyfin. Any help would be appreciated. Or point me to an article or forum post that is the best way to get this to work.
January 9, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution 1. Install the Intel GPU Top plugin. 2. Add this to the "extra parameters" field for the docker(s) you want to add the GPU to: --device=/dev/dri That's it. Also just need to be on Unraid 7.

That is so much easier than most of the forum topics I have read so far. Thanks
January 9, 20251 yr Author Oh do I need to uninstall the Nvidia drivers first or will that not cause any issues?
January 9, 20251 yr Community Expert I would suggest removing the nvidia drivers plugin if you're no longer using any Nvidia GPUs. It won't cause any issues however it will still function which means at every boot it will download the nvidia gpu drivers which adds time to the boot sequence. I also forgot to mention you might need to reboot after you've installed the intel plugin so it can reload the drivers. Unless you still need to reboot the server to add the intel GPU then go ahead and install the intel plugin before you power down. Edited January 9, 20251 yr by MowMdown
September 1, 2025Sep 1 Just wanted to say thanks for this thread and for anyone else that lands here.Removed the nvidia drivers, reset gpu statistics, deleted the device line from the plex config, set hardware decoding back to auto in plex app and installed Intel-TOP.Shutdown server, installed A380.Rebooted, selected A380 in gpu statistics, added the new device /dev/dri/ to plex config and selected A80 for hardware decoding in plex app.Nothing. Plex refused to use the card. What fixed it was deleting the /dev/dri/ device from plex config and adding --device=/dev/dri to the extra parameters line.No idea why that made it work as If I understand it correctly adding a new device does exactly the same thing as putting the line in extra parameters, anyway, no matter its all working beautifully now.
