Confirming the upgrade to 7.0.0 with Intel Arc A310 worked with Plex, apparently including Dolby Vision and HDR tonemapping ("works"...).
Had to follow the guide as before, and manually select the device from the dropdown menu in Plex; auto didn't use hardware transcode.  I switched over from Nvidia and there will be a few errors and things you'll have to resolve.  These should be self-evident, or won't matter.  I also removed the Nvidia before 7.0.0 reboot to avoid an extra reboot, and had no issues.  Plex will fail to start due to Nvidia missing, just remove the nvidia references, click save to reestablish the docker, and then on to the guide.
Supermicro X10 dual Xeon broadwell + Sparkle Intel Arc A310, previously Asus Nvidia 1650 OC.  No resizeable BAR support on my motherboard.

Loving 7.0 - just need this post approved so I can post in other topics.

Updates like a Charm from 6.13 to 7.0. Only thing i realized was that community apps werent loading properly as expected - just put google as DNS1 and 2 in the Dockersettings - and lets go! Thanks for that beautiful Release

Updated from 6.12.13 to 7.0.0 and it worked flawlessly, including the nvidia-driver plugin. I also took the opportunity to upgrade to new cache drive in ZFS mirror instant of btrfs.

This is what I did, not all step are needed, just telling what I did.

  1. Shutdown VM and Docker Service.
  2. Moved everything off cache to the array.
  3. Removed the Cache.
  4. Updated to 7.0.0.
  5. Rebooted.
  6. Build the new Cache pool with zfs-mirror.
  7. Started the Array.
  8. Checked the box "Format" for the cache drive pool.
  9. Configured the "docker" share from array->cache.
  10. Started "Mover".
  11. When "Mover" was done, made "docker" in "cache only".
  12. Started the docker.
  13. Everything was fine, configured "appdata" and "system" to "array->cache".
  14. Started "Mover".
  15. When "Mover" was done, made "appdata" and "system" in "cache only".

I reported a bug related with unraid 7 here, troubleshoting and "solution" please review if you need anything else to fix it. I have previous and post migration libvirt images if needed

confirmed bug when updating with Vlans and docker netwroks. you may not maintain your vlan docker network settings.

Another happy upgrader here- 6.12.13 to 7.0. No issues.

Thanks to the whole team for your hard work. Looking forward to exploring the new features.

Edit- correct the version I was on.

You should probably upgrade your USB Boot device first. :)

So I got the same error. Had a new 4GB Sandisk Cruzer and used the USB Flash Creator to load my backup on it. No matter what I do, I can't get a WebUI. No easy way to hookup a monitor either. I was expecting that I would get this screen upon boot but nada:

Any thoughts on what it could be? Using my old 2GB flash drive works fine. Worst case, is there still a manual way to upgrade (i.e. I remember back in the day just replacing a couple files to ugprade but that was a while ago!).

The one thing that just came to mind was the network cfg settings in the USB Flash creator. 2 options: DHCP and static. I have my router configured to assign the IP address of my server based on the Mac ID address. In any case, I used the manual method and put in my IP, gateway and (primary) DNS server info. Should I retry with DHCP?

Does this mean I need a bigger flash drive?  Anything I can do to get extra space from the one I have?  My flash drive is 2gig and about 15 years old

boot device shows 596295680 free but upgrade needs 698368584 plugin: run failed: '/bin/bash' returned 1 Executing hook script: post_plugin_checks

I upgraded six of my unRAID servers from 6.12.14 to 7. They upgraded without any issues. Although, I did uninstall the RTL8125 plugin first. And then reinstalled the plugin after unRAID 7 was installed.

My network transfer speeds are noticeably faster now. I'm getting around 2.1 Gbps transfer rates. Previously, I only got around 1.75 Gbps transfer rates.

Bingo! Can't believe this speed improvement isn't talked about more! Everything file-handling related over network (at least for my XFS formatted drives) is faster! Response time dipping in and out of folders with thousands of files, from Windows Explorer or Free Commander XE, is WAY faster than it has been in a long time, approaching v.6.83 speed (the last great file handling version... 🙂)

Updated from 6.12.10 quickly, no hitches, nothing broken. Bravo!

It's not a bug, but non-standard CIDR subnets no longer work with Docker custom networks, this was recently added to the release notes:

It may be possible to free up some space, 2GB for a clean install is enough, but if you have more stuff there, you may need a larger one.

Difficult to say without seeing if it's even booting correctly.

Flawless upgrade from 6.12.14 to 7.0.0 here.  I uninstalled the Folder View plugin before upgrading as suggested in the Update Assistant tool, reinstalled once I got up and running with no issues.

Stopped all containers and VMs, stopped the array, then did the upgrade as per my usual process for upgrades.  Plugins downloaded and then rebooted without issues.

Side bonus; The SAS spin down plugin is actually spinning down my drives now where it never would in the past, so I appreciate this as it drops my server's power usage by about 1/3 with my drives spun down.  For those curious this is on a Dell PERC H710 mini controller in a Poweredge R720xd with an 8 drive array including the parity drive.

Updated from 6.12.14 to 7.0.0 with no problems.

Thx, well done! ❤️

6.12.14 to 7.0.0

So smooth, it was easier than filling the dishwasher.

Great job guys!

I literally just upgraded to Unraid 7.0 from 6.12.14 and it took about 5 minutes with a restart. After the restart, my server came back up without any errors. I checked all my docker containers to make sure they started up properly and were accessible. All of my containers were fine. All of my plugins with the exception of NerdTools were fine. I received a update notification from the community app store for NerdTools and that update notification was to actually uninstall NerdTools. its deprecated in Unraid 7, but that solution was easy. There's another plugin in the community store called 'Python3' and it works as a nice replacement for NerdTools and its compatible with Unraid 7. In case you guys are interested, I run 14 docker containers that include the following:

Immich
Overseerr

Plex Pass

Qbittorent

Sonarr

Radarr

Prowlarr

Gluetun

flaresloverr

Postgres Backup

MySpeed

Krusader

All containers started up without any issues and are fully accessible. My array is also up and running without any issues. My NVMe cache drive appears to fine and also my NVMe appdata drive appears to be fine as well. I'm actually pretty impressed with how smooth and quick the upgrade went. I was a little nervous to upgrade after reading a few horror stories from others about past upgrades, but so far, the success stories about upgrading to 7.0 seem to be true. It was absolutely painless.

NerdTools, as far as I know, has been deprecated since long before 7.0.

Thanks for the tip on Python3.

Flash, and most especially the cheap flash on USB drives (even "good" USB drives), does not endure forever, even if it is rarely written to.  If your drive is that old, you should likely purchase a replacement proactively to prevent a failure.  Do your research.  A lot of people will refer to "high endurance" or similar flash drives, but I don't trust that term to be more than marketing slang that unless it's an industrial drive that tells me the specific type of flash and it's actual endurance rating, just like a full SSD would.
Though 7.0.0 sums up years of improvements, as a peer, I think you should just spend a few bucks to prevent potential misery.

Smooth upgrade from 16.12.14 on intel i5-11500 system (with nvidia gpu).

Removed all deprecated plugins (like nerdtools RIP :( ) though some of the stuff it provided me has no replacements (like mediainfo, etc) prior to upgrading.

array remained fine

btrfs cache remained fine

zfs pool remained fine

Dockers and Docker-compose fine.

Thanks for the smooth release on this occasion :)

Loving the Quality of Life updates in the Docker UI for when using container networking, and Docker-Compose plugin.

Is there still a manual way to upgrade from 6.12.14? What files do I replace on my current 2GB Flash drive to upgrade manually?

You can grab the update here. Unpack the zip file and replace the bz files on the root of your flash. BE SURE TO GRAB A BACKUP FIRST THOUGH.

Ok, so just the bz files need updated? I wasn’t sure if anything had changed from the days of OS 4 and 5! Thanks
