April 3, 201214 yr version 5.0-beta 12a First problem with unRAID in 9 months of use. I had a power cut yesterday evening (no UPS). On restarting my unraid box it started a parity check as expected. What wasn't expected was for all of my shares to be missing apart from one, which only had the ps3mediaserver folder and related files in it. None of the other folders or files that should be there. I assume that the ps3mediaserver was created when it started up. I did come across this post- http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=7709.0 where a similar problem occured although that was on version 4.5 Update - 29 errors on the parity check. Then on clicking stop to close down the box lots of Retry unmounting user share (s). The web interface then becomes unresponsive. So time for another hard power off. Started up OK. said that parity is valid. But still no user shares... Tried another stop array, and again It just seems to get caught in a loop Retry unmounting user shares (s). I've had a look on the flash and the configurations for the shares are still on there. It's going to be another hard power off, and try removing the ps3mediaserver and snap plugins and see if it starts up any better. otherwise I'm at a loss as to what to do Log_02-04-12.txt
April 3, 201214 yr First disable all add-ons until the problem is found. Put the flash into a PC and run checkdisk on it. Then, run reiserfsck on all data drives in the server. The procedure is in the wiki.
April 3, 201214 yr Author Phew - removing the plugins - snap and ps3mediaserver may have solved the problem. My shares are back Another parity check running, then I'll check if it will shut down nicely. I suspect that it will. Still a bit confused as to what was happening or why unless it was to do with ps3mediaserver writing it's own files?? lionelhutz - thanks I will do
