Warning: Machine type 'pc-i440fx-5.1' is deprecated - should i be worried?

Featured Replies

I have updated to Unraid 7, and I am running fine and my Windows 11 VM works without issue.

However, by fluke, I have seen this warning in the logs

2025-01-11 09:09:19.042+0000: Domain id=1 is tainted: deprecated-config (machine type 'pc-i440fx-5.1')
char device redirected to /dev/pts/0 (label charserial0)

Should I be concerned? The reason originally for using i440fx was due to the fact Windows 11 didn't want to boot off the passed though m.2 drive and seamed to only want to work if I used i440fx. Is it something I need to sort, such as switch to say q35 and see if it works or simply switch to the latest option for i440fx.

You can edit the VM and change that to a more recent i440fx machine type, latest one is 9.1 IIRC
