January 11, 20251 yr Hi, I just upgraded to Unraid 7.0 and it looks like the new docker networking settings are not compatible with migrating Docker containers from 6.12.14 that are running in Host mode. This causes Plex (in host mode) to be unable to start in 7.0 and recieves an execution error upon attempting to start it manually. I assume this is due to the container not recieving a container IP or port due to it being in host mode. When attempting to assign a port to the container it fails and creates an orphan image. Didn't see this mentioned in the changelog or mentioned elsewhere. Anyone else have this issue and if so what is the solution, since Plex needs to be ran in host mode. Everything was just fine under 6.12.14 and wasn't caught running the OS upgrade script. Edited January 11, 20251 yr by tgggd86
January 11, 20251 yr Community Expert I would expect many more reports if this was a general issue, and it's the 1st one I see, but this is not really something I can help with, please post the diagnostics, other users may be able to help.
January 11, 20251 yr Author Looks like my analysis was off. When trying to recreate the container from my docker template it is the nvidia card and/or driver that seems to be causing the issue as plex cannot see the nvidia card listed in my template. I removed all nvidia/graphics parameters and the container was able to start. Now to start troubleshooting why unraid is not seeing any nvidia graphics card installed despite it being present in the BIOS.
January 11, 20251 yr Author Solution I was able to resolve this issue by reinstalling the nvidia driver plugin. This allowed unraid to properly recognize the GPU. Then restarted docker following the instructions during the installation of the nvidia driver (enable docker set to no > apply, then set to yes > apply) seemed to allow unraid and then docker to see the GPU as it did before the upgrade. Plex container was able to be created and start. Transcoding is working.
March 6, 20251 yr Just wanted to add, I had this issue on 7.0.1 and I solved it by re-adding the nvidia driver, it was deleted straight after the update.
