September 11, 20169 yr The 32bit plg is still listed at the bottom of the OP. Whether all of the dependencies are still available is another question. But regardless you still should upgrade to v6 (assuming that you have at least 2GB ram (preferably minimum 4))
September 14, 20169 yr Thank you both for the responses! Long story short, I don't live in the same country as the unraid server anymore, so when something like this goes wrong I have to talk one of my sisters though a fix for it. Only had a few minor problems (1 drive failure, plugin issues ect) in the 3 years I have been gone, but I'm not sure I am comfortable trying to do a unraid version update over skype. Will be back for a visit in a month, so will try and do it then.
September 21, 20169 yr Once I connect to a server, is all the traffic coming from the host Unraid OS encrypted? I have a couple of other plugins fetching and sending data, and I was wondering if there was any way to check that it was encrypted.
September 22, 20169 yr Hi Peter, Was hoping you would be able to answer my question from a bit ago? Thanks I have another question for you. I have Zoneminder docker setup, and I am using DuckDNS as my DDNS service. I want to access Zoneminder from anywhere, however when OpenVPN is running I cant get to it, but when I stop OpenVPN i am able to access it from any connection. Is there anyways to keep my Zoneminder traffic from filtering through the OpenVPN client? Thanks!
September 22, 20169 yr Solved: Like the n00b I am I didnt realise that the actual root of the flash is already called "root", so when I created a folder called "root" the searchpath became "root\root\openvpn" instead of "root\openvpn". Hi Peter I'm a total unraid and linux n00b, I've been trying to get your client working for a coupe of hours, and where I am having problem is getting the client to find my providers certificate files. I followed the instructions and created a "/boot/openvpn" folder under "flash" and copied the certificate there .ovpn certificate there, and rebooted. But I can still not see it so I can chose it under the client settings. What could I be doing wrong? One question I had is what should the format of the certificate file be that the client is looking for?, Does it have to be .zip or just .ovpn? My provider supplies a .zip containing a .crt, .ovpn and a .key for Linux distributions. Are all 3 needed by the client or just the .ovpn one? Any assistance would be much appreciated.
September 23, 20169 yr Im having trouble getting the client to connect in terminal im getting start update_ovpn_interface Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]... Try 'grep --help' for more information. Updating the ovpn file... auth-user-pass /boot/config/plugins/openvpnclient/password.txt The ovpn file already has the option --> /boot/config/plugins/openvpnclient/pass word.txt status /tmp/openvpn/openvpn-status.log The ovpn file already has the option --> status /tmp/openvpn/openvpn-status.log Changing to the folder where the openvpn config files belong /boot/openvpn Starting Openvpn Tunnel: Please Wait... October 9, 20169 yr I am having trouble getting the server setup with UnRaid 6.2.1, when I set the directory and install RSA and the keys nothing actually happens. The console shows it being generated and written but when I go and look in the share no files have been written! Any ideas?
October 9, 20169 yr Author Did a fresh install and all is OK. Where did you install to? The Keys will take some time to finish Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
October 18, 20169 yr Im having this error Options error: You must define TUN/TAP device (--dev) The solution is to edit *.opvn file and edit dev tun to dev tun5
October 18, 20169 yr I have this error on my clients. read UDPv4: Connection reset by peer (WSAECONNRESET) (code=10054) The solution is to use TCP (instead of the default UDP) for vpn. In the server, goto webui->server config, change from UDP to TCP In the client, open *.opvn, change proto udp to proto tcp
October 19, 20169 yr How do I get the ip of other connected clients on the vpn? Also, how do I know the vpn ip of my unraid?
November 10, 20169 yr I have a sweet little unRAID server for downloading movies and TV shows using Plex Media Server with PlexConnect to view on any of my 3 TV's via Apple TV boxes. A few months ago, TWC started sending me ugly emails about my downloading so I installed the OpenVPN client and have not heard from them since (Great Product, easy setup!!). However, I cannot view my media library on my Apple TV's like before but I can still use a Mac/PC. So my question is, What do I bypass? And How do I bypass? so that PlexConnect works?

Have you been able configure out how to get Plex connect working with OpenVPN turned on? Thanks!
November 15, 20169 yr NO. I have not had the time to work on the issue and I am very weak on VPN so I was hoping someone else figured it out. This is the only real issue I have had with my unRAID setup which is what I like about it. Build was easy, software install even easier. It just works like a toaster. Very little maintenance. I have had a couple of cheap HDD's fail but they were rebuilt like magic. If I can get this issue resolved I will once again be a happy camper.

From what i have read, it has something to do with iptables, but i am not familiar with it and the documentation i have found i either dont understand or are no clear. So i am hoping someone can provide somewhat of a dumb down how-to for this If you are able to figure it out, please post your solution here. I will do the same if i figure this out.
November 16, 20169 yr Anyone able to chime in on this and give us a hand? You are in the wrong place for 'anyone' to find this, as it's in a Deprecated section of the forums where few users go, especially not users with current versions. I've been looking at the OpenVPN support threads, and I can partly understand why it's gotten confusing, as there are now 3 threads for support: Deprecated / 6.0 (Unverified) / OpenVPN Client:32 and 64-bit: Your Private and Secure Path to the Internet (this forum and thread, for older versions) Deprecated / 6.0 (Unverified) / OpenVPN Server Plugin : 32-bit and 64-bit Version (also for older versions) Application Support / Plugin Support / OpenVPN Server & Client for unRAID 6.2+ (for current 6.2+ versions, also 6.1?) Normally, plugins developed for v6 had to be modified for certain changes in 6.1. Then we moderators would be notified (or a moderator would notice it), and the plugin thread would be moved to the current plugin support board. Apparently that never happened here. Obviously if it works with 6.2 it must have been modified for the 6.1 changes. Instead a new 6.2 thread was created in the current Plugin Support board, which was a good idea! Except that 6.2 users are now posting in all 3 boards! peter_sm, to clear up this confusion, could you place a clear bolded note in the first posts of the deprecated threads, that current v6 users should go to the new thread *instead*? You do have a note in both about going to the new one for installation info, but it isn't clear that they should stay there for all further v6 support, not come back to the old threads. I was tempted to just move the recent 6.2 posts over to the new thread, but I felt that could be confusing too, for those users whose posts were moved. If you need any help from me, I'll be happy to assist any way you like.

November 16, 20169 yr @RobJ Can you lock these 2 old threads ? //Peter I certainly can! But one last question, just to confirm this, you realize you are asking even the 32 bit v5 users to post in the new thread, is that what you want? If so, it might be good to encourage anyone asking for help to always mention what version they are using.
November 16, 20169 yr Author Did not think about V5 users :-) pleas keep all thread open, I need to look what the best way is to support. //Peter
