April 7, 201214 yr Hi everyone, I had everything up and running pretty smoothly following all the procedures on the site. I tried to install mysql for my xbmc. I tried to do a reboot and once it reboots, tower is active for about 30 seconds then i cannot connect to the server from another pc. Not sure what's up. I have a feeling its my old cache drive. Any ideas? I believe this is the correct syslog syslog-20120407-105802.txt

April 7, 201214 yr Are you saying that you can connect initially, but after 30 seconds the connection is lost? Are you connecting using your browser based configuration page, or have you tried to connect via telnet? Do you have a monitor connected?
April 7, 201214 yr Author Cannot connect via web or telnet. I don't have a monitor hooked up. If I have too I can take my regular pc one downstairs and hook up
April 7, 201214 yr Is your ip address static? Just wondering if you can check to see if your router has decided to assign your server a new ip? Can you look at your router to verify the server is actually being assigned an ip? This sounds similar to what happened to me yesterday. My motherboard decided to reassign my primary boot device to one of the data drives in my array. Obviously I couldn't connect over the network as the system wasn't booting up. It may be worth dragging out the monitor to make sure you are actually booting to the flash drive.
April 7, 201214 yr Author I do have a static ip assigned. Strange. Alright maybe I'll try tht tonight
April 7, 201214 yr Sounds like you might have something starting up that gives a problem on the server... There must be a "start in plain vanilla mode" option somewhere ? What happens when you login to telnet in the 30 seconds and wait what happens ?
April 8, 201214 yr Author Looks like its getting stopped at the following "tower login: xargs: sh: terminated by signal 9" Then a long MySQL error.
April 8, 201214 yr Author Alright, deleted the mysql packages from the packages install folder. now everything is back to normal whew!
