January 18, 20251 yr I recently attempted to update to 7.0 when I restarted the system I received error messages that the drives were "unmountable" and incorrect. I have Western Digital 14TB disks in a 4 bay array. 1 parity and 3 data. they are now showing as JMicron 130PB USB instead of the WD drives. (when I click on the "Identity" tab is shows the WD info and 14TB... a friend told me to restart the array and it would sort itself out. I stopped the array when the "Time To Completion" hovered at 15,000 DAYS. how do I fix this. All information that is in the array is still stored on another hard drive in my office, so I am not worried about losing everything and starting from scratch. I am a total technical Noob and do not understand half the technical jargon I am reading here. I searched the forums for drives not showing correct information, but did not see anything that was like my situation. Thank you, extremely, for the assistance... IMG_3223.HEIC IMG_3224.HEIC
January 18, 20251 yr Author which part of the diagnostics? I just see a folder with a lot of stuff in it. as stated, I am a total beginner with this, so I apologize for not knowing what to do or what to post. Edited January 18, 20251 yr by WeePly34 corrected a typo for the folder
January 18, 20251 yr Community Expert 9 minutes ago, WeePly34 said: just see a folder with a lot of stuff in it It should be a single zip file. If you are seeing lots of files you are looking inside the zip file - probably because you have something set to ‘helpfully’ automatically open zip files. Normally the whole zip file (as a single zip file) should be uploaded.
January 18, 20251 yr Author okay, it was in the trash can... so I "salvaged" it to the desktop: tower-diagnostics-20250118-1521.zip
January 19, 20251 yr Community Expert USB not recommended for assigned disks for many reasons, including the problem you are experiencing.
January 19, 20251 yr Community Expert The USB enclosure you are using may not be totally compatible with the new USB UASP driver, post the output from: lsusb -t

January 23, 20251 yr Author no I reverted back to v6.12.14 I reverted back thinking it would fix the issue.
January 26, 20251 yr Community Expert There appears to be an issue with the enclosure, can you connect at least one of the disks to a SATA port?
January 29, 20251 yr Author unfortunately I do not have a sata port available. and it is frustrating that this system was working fine for almost a year then this happens...
January 29, 20251 yr Community Expert See if you can get a different enclosure, even if it just supports one disk for testing, if the problem was the upgrade, reverting to v6.12 should have fixed it.
September 9, 2025Sep 9 Author It has been a while, took some time to save $$$ for new enclosure.I purchased a Terramaster f4-424 Proto replace the usb enclosure.I also bought a new usb stick (as I was told the existing one is too large to fit inside the enclosure to use as boot drive. Do I just copy the existing one or should I just follow the steps as if starting new?Anything I need to do for the key/license?Truly appreciate everyone help here!🙏 Edited September 9, 2025Sep 9 by WeePly34
September 9, 2025Sep 9 Community Expert You can copy the config folder to the new one; you will need to transfer the key after:https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/changing-the-flash-device/#why-replace-your-usb-flash-boot-device
