cache drives "Unmountable: wrong or no file system"

Featured Replies

my 2 cache drives are both not working. i am getting the error "Unmountable: wrong or no file system". The file system is btrfs. my diagnostics are attached.

How can I fix this? For what it's worth, both cache drives have 99%-100% SSD endurance remaining.

run a btrfs scrub and check disk from the web ui disk menu:

Please stop the array at the start in maintenance mode:

Since btrfs is detecting data corruption recommend running memtest first, then there are some recovery options here:

Thank you - I believe BTRFS restore was the solution for me. I was able to copy all the files from the cache to my Disk1.

Now for my cache drvies, does that mean that they are toast? I assume I shoulnd't reuse these same drives again for my cache pool? I would have thought that since both drives have 99%-100% SSD endurance remaining that they would be fine. The drive models are rated for 1200TBW but they are consumer drives. Or could this be maybe a nvme controller issue? Should I be investing in "NAS" specific SSDs like WD Red SN700 NVMe? What would be the best way to mitigate this from happening in the future?

I completly missed this..... Maybe it is my RAM. And you know what, I did add 1 stick of RAM to my server a couple weeks ago, and it was a random stick as well which was not the same speed as the existing RAM, whcih was a 2x8gb pair that I was using for a long time now without issue. I will run the test when I get home today.

I just did and it passed. Removed the 3rd ram stick but still says Unmountable. At least I was able to get my data.
