New Disk Installed same size as parity

Featured Replies

I just installed a new 10tb hdd which is the same size as my parity disk. Running on Unraid 6.12.14 the new disk has been added but I cant start the array because I get a "parity disk is not the biggest" warning and no option to start the array.

I'm a bit stuck how to proceed now. The new disk is a replacement for a smaller disk that was being emulated.

Hope someone can explain what I can do please?

At first glance the message is correct

Device Model: ST10000VE001-3BX101
Serial Number: WP01M18K
LU WWN Device Id: 5 000c50 0f776aff3
Firmware Version: EV01
User Capacity: 10,000,831,348,736 bytes [10.0 TB]

and

Device Model: ST10000NM0046
Serial Number: ZA24LSMQ
LU WWN Device Id: 5 000c50 0af91ebef
Firmware Version: G00A
User Capacity: 10,009,952,870,400 bytes [10.0 TB]

Not sure if there is anything that can be done about this.

You could probably use the Parity Swap procedure.

Yep, only option is to use the new disk as parity, then use the old parity for data.

Okay

I'll give that a go.
