Boot stuck on "overlay mounted on /lib" when i assign the gpu to vfio

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a problem to assign my gpu to my unraid.

Whe  i want to assign my gpu to the vfio, i restart my unraid and that stucks on overlay mounted on /lib.

I have to delete the vfio-pci.txt to make it boot again.

What can i do ?

Is the monitor connected to the Nvidia output or a different GPU?

Yes. I have a hdmi cable connected to my monitor with the GPU connector

Then it's normal that you will lose monitor output during boot, but Unraid should still be starting, see if you can access the WebGUI over the LAN

I don’t lose the monitor output it’s just stuck on this line, I already tried to access over the lan and i can’t :(.

can i try to plug the hdmi cable directly on motherboard and not via gpu ?

That's normal, at some point the GPU gets detached from unraid as it was bound to vfio so the display just freezes in its last state.

Depends what hardware you have/if your CPU has a built-in GPU. If so BIOS needs to be set to keep the iGPU enabled and to have it as primary.
