April 11, 201214 yr Hi So almost set up after a lot of drive issues which are sorted out now (see my other post) Was copying files over to server from Win 7 machine using teracopy when they suddenly started failing and saying target not found. Now i have tried to reboot everything and to copy some files over using explorer and now i have no access to the relevant share - seems to have become read only in the middle of filling a folder with data (i can see about 10 of the 30 or so albums copied fine and now is locked?) !! I have tried to do the reset permissions in v5r14 a couple of times but nothing seems to be working, now i see there are some errors with a disk in the syslog which is attached but they are not something i understand or something i know how to fix. Can someone please let me know what this means and what to do to resolve the situation - in simple steps please as not a linux user Thanks in advance syslog-2012-04-11.zip

April 12, 201214 yr Author OK, will try to follow the process described. Is this an issue or one of those things that just happens - i ask as this is a new disk put in place to replace a dying disk that gave me a lot of problems (resolved with some great help on here). Is it caused by teracopy, by using windows explorer or ....... Thanks
April 12, 201214 yr Author And a follow up question, this seemed to happen in mid copy i.e. everything going fine and then suddenly locked out as everything read only - does that happen? Will be so glad to get all data onto the server and then just run it as normal as this has been a pretty stressful build for a newcomer ..... but we solder on
April 13, 201214 yr Author OK, looks like all finished and the disk mounted ok this time - needed a reboot as there was nothing showing on the disk and there was no space info showing for the disk. After reboot all seems fine and parity is showing as good, i can also now copy to the disk The resiserfsck tool showed errors and said to do a --rebuild-tree was kind of hoping for just a fix but anyway after a long time it seems we are back So why does this happen? Will chage this to fixed
April 13, 201214 yr The main cause is an unclean shutdown. Always use the unRAID web GUI to shut down. Did you run with --rebuild-tree? Did it complete? If so then it should be fixed.
April 13, 201214 yr Author Hi I did not do any kind of shutdown, this seemed to happen in the middle of moving a lot of data across with teracopy, and by lots i mean about 100gig, half a folder was filled and then suddenly no access ...... The prog said 1 error and needed --rebuild-tree was required, ran this through and seemed to finish fine. Then after remount there was no size visible and nothing was visible when i mapped the disk in explorer, did a restart and its all back visible and working, moved some data and still all good. Lets hope thats the second and last glitch for this build as this is a new replacement disk ! (and yes i did do another smart check and all looking good) Again thanks for the help on the forums
