"SimpleFeatures" - iTunes Server Plugin [SUPPORT]

Featured Replies

I can see the shared library on Itunes, which is on my PC. But on the appleTV, with home sharing turned on, it just says No content Found.

From the PC i can Airplay from unraid to the appletv via itunes. Is there a way to show the shared library?

Unfortunately home sharing is a different protocol to what iTunes server uses. I don't believe this is possible without jailbreaking your Apple TV to install something like Plex.

I'm wicked excited about getting iTunes server up and running. However I can't seem to get it to work. I'm running this version of the plugin: simpleFeatures.itunes.server-1.0.11-noarch-1.plg.

But when I install I get this error: ERROR 404: Not Found.  bad download, deleting

Help!

Thanks in advance.

This is what I get when I try to install:

root@Black_Maria:~# installplg /boot/config/plugins/simplefeatures.itunes.server-1.0.11-noarch-1.plg

Hi Speeding_ant

Seems the sqlite package is causing some issues as it links to an old version. I updated the plg to http://slackware.cs.utah.edu/pub/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/ap/sqlite-3.7.16-i486-1.txz but I then get a bad MD5 error

are you able to help with this please?

Lee

The md5 for that file is: a6f1606b7fc032d28937a75c0cd3ae68

It also needs to be changed in the web server .plg as well.  In both cases, like this:

<FILE Name="&pkg;/sqlite-3.7.16-i486-1.txz" Run="upgradepkg --install-new">
<URL>&ur2;/ap/sqlite-3.7.16-i486-1.txz</URL>
<MD5>a6f1606b7fc032d28937a75c0cd3ae68</MD5>
</FILE>

Thanks JohnC... That did it!

great thanks!

Hi All

I can see my unraid as a shared library, I can move music into my music folder but cannot see the music.

I am getting this error in "/var/log/forked-daapd/forked-daapd.log"

Would this be causing the issue and does anyone know how to resolve it?

Thanks

Hi All

I managed to get the music to be playable within the shared library, seems no album art comes across. If there a file format for the artwork I should be using? Can anyone advise what the issue is below please?

No album art still seems to be an issue, is there any specific art I should be using? This is abot the only thing holding me up the rest of unraid seems to be working pretty well!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Guys

I really would appreciate a hand with this, not sure why the artwork will not come across but all music comes across fine and streams fine. Can anyone help me out with what I should be looking or searching for to see why the artwork wont come across please?

Unfortunately, I think its a limitation with iTunes Shared Libraries

Thanks

It would appear that there is no sound card drivers in the base unraid.  Am I right in thinking that I would need drivers for this to work how I would like it ie iPad connecting to the iTunes server playing my music files via airplay to my amp

You'd need to run a client app for the DAAP protocol on the iPad, but the one that I have played with in the past (SimpleDaap) is relatively limited in terms of the formats it will play (AAC-LC seems OK though), and some functionality is broken under iOS7.  Not sure whether you'll be able to stream its output using Airplay though.

Thanks for info I will probably replace the raspberry pi upstairs that I use to watch films on TV in my room with a small aspire and use iTunes off that to control my music collection with my ipad / amp

Would have been nice to do it all from Unraid server

Is the plugin still working with unRaid 5.05?
