February 1, 20251 yr Hi all. I recently built myself a NAS and have been enjoying it. However, as I've begun to use it more, I've had consistent fails. Usually overnight, every time when I'm not actively using the NAS. I have an N100 (aliexpress special), a seperate Sata PCIE card, new cables, and two referb'd 12tb HDD's along with a 2TB cache. Annoyingly it doesn't crash when I'm using it, and not even for the same reasons. Sometimes its on parity checks, others its been just sitting there doing nothing at all. I'm hoping the attached log file is sufficient, and if not I'll do what I can to acquire another. Thanks again. syslog syslog-previous tower-diagnostics-20250201-0022.zip Edited February 1, 20251 yr by Godofwar526
February 1, 20251 yr Community Expert If the server is rebooting by itself, that's almost always a hardware issue, look in the BIOS for a "Global C-States" or similar setting and disable that to retest, it's been known to be a problem with some boards, with both Intel and AMD CPUs.
February 1, 20251 yr Author Will definitely do. I remember glancing at this bios and it being rather limited.. so hopefully it even has that option.
February 1, 20251 yr Author Unfortunately, no change.. This literally just happened as I was glancing at it. It was fine, doing no work other then being active, and then it rebooted with another unclean shutdown. I'm very close to just swapping CPU and motherboard. syslog-previous Edited February 1, 20251 yr by Godofwar526
