Unable to format drive added to array

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I am trying to add a new drive to my array but I somehow cannot figure out how to get it formatted.

After adding the drive the process to clear it automatically started and upon completion I stopped the array, changed the filesystem of the new disk from auto to ZFS and then notice that I cannot click on the "erase" button because it is greyed out.

I thought restarting the array would trigger the format but it did not. On the main screen it just says "unmountable: no file system".

I have Unassigned Devices installed and I made sure the destructive mode is enabled.

I am running Unraid 7.0.0

Thanks for your help.

Do you not have the option to format Unmountable drives near the bottom of the main screen.   If so make sure that it lists only the drive(s) you want to format before proceeding.

If it doesn't format after clicking the format button, please post the diagnostics after a format attempt.
