Plex RAM Transcoding - (An unknown error occurred (4294967283))

Featured Replies

Hi I am running into an error with Transcoding on my Plex. I recently replaced my cache ssd (it was starting to fail) and also replaced my RAM (as it failed Memtest, new RAM ran for 2 days+ and passed with no errors). I decided to switch to RAM transcoding to save my SSD from all the reads/writes but now I am running into an (An unknown error occurred (4294967283)) when I try to transcode and if I click retry it will sometimes play but I will get this error about 60 seconds in and it will force close the session (Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.) Checking the Plex Logs I see this error:

Feb 01, 2025 11:40:19.529 [23102739303224] WARN - [HttpClient/HCl#cc] HTTP error requesting GET http://192.168.1.189:49152/wps_device.xml (7, Couldn't connect to server) (Failed to connect to 192.168.1.189 port 49152 after 2 ms: Couldn't connect to server).

I am also noticing that the NVIDIA Driver plugin correctly shows my 1650 Super but in plex it is picking it up as a 1660 Super. I've attached pictures of how I have configured RAM Transcoding. (Variable: TRANS_DIR was already in the template for Binhex-Plex so I'm not sure if it is needed or not.)

These are my extra parameters in plex:

--runtime=nvidia --mount type=tmpfs,destination=/dev/shm/,tmpfs-size=20000000000 --no-healthcheck

I also did run my plex rebuild from scratch after it crashed on me the first time about a month ago before I realized one of my two RAM sticks had gone bad. Could this possibly be playing into this? Should I format my cache drive and rebuild all my dockers and plex database from the ground up again since I now have good working RAM in there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been troubleshooting and resolving issues/swapping out parts since Christmas.

Attached are my syslogs as well as my Plex Media Server Logs. If you need anything else please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any support.
