February 1, 20251 yr Hi, I today found I only reach 190MB max from my main Unraid server to my backup server. All is connected to 10G and even link aggregation to 20G. Mainserver: Unraid 7 Dell R720 with H310 IT modus 4x 20TB Toshiba enterprise drives in a zfs pool with 2x 500GB nvme drives as L2ARC. Backupserver: Unraid 7 Supermicro LSI HBA (more powerful than the H310) 4x 4TB vdev raidz1 and 3x8TB+1x16TB vdev 2 raidz1 these 2 vdev make up a zfs pool. Subpool L2ARC exist of 2x500GB Sata SSD Attached my diags unraid-diagnostics-20250201-2146.zip backuppie-diagnostics-20250201-2147.zip
February 2, 20251 yr Community Expert What are you using to connect both servers and run the backup? Also, make sure to run a single stream iperf test in both directions to rule out any network issues.
February 2, 20251 yr Author Yes, I do indeed need to give you more info. My workstation is also connected with 10G and copying a 60GB file to my workstation from the mainserver is around 500/600 MB/s. If I copy that file to my Backupserver also through SMB, it goes even higher (due to more disks) at 700/800 MB/s. So SMB shares work fine, at high speed. I am using LuckyBackup with Rsync over SSH. That does not go higher than 190 MB/s.
February 2, 20251 yr Community Expert Which SSH Cipher are you using? Default one is very hard on the CPU, assuming AES is supported, try with [email protected]

The standard Unraid one. If I change it will this impact Luckybackup, or do I have to do it in the Luckybackup container?
February 2, 20251 yr Community Expert It will likely need to be changed in the container, I’ve never used it, I just use rsync over SSH.
