dikkiedirk
Make sure SMB is blocked by your firewall and that your LAN is secure. I have a firewall in my router enabled. Are there special setting for Samba? I honestly don't know. Same for the question is my LAN secure? Are there ways to test this? Quote Link to comment
dgaschk
Leave the default settings on the firewall and you should be fine. There are several other security issues with unRAID. This is not the least of them. It should not be exposed to the Internet. Quote Link to comment
fishface
For me it could be an issue, we have a busy household, teenagers etc, who teenager friends coming over, so I need to ensure that even users within my LAN cannot easily delete content, and unfortunately the security company involved with discovering this flaw inadvertently made public a nice easy to use perl script to use the exploit... . I'll use the hosts allow/deny for now I guess. Quote Link to comment
