so I was at costco today for a hotdog and thought I would go look at hard drives, they had the 2tb mybook for 158.99 and the 3tb for 169.99. just now I looked up the hitachi 4tb drives and they are 349.99. I could buy 2 3tb drives for cheaper then 1 4tb and have an extra 2tb on top of that. only problem is I hate to buy the 3tb drives just for the drive and throw out the rest of it. any idea if the warranty is void if I open up the external enclose to remove the drive but have a dead drive?
