Unraid 7.0.0 stuck during boot

Featured Replies

7.0.0 has been working great so far.

I wanted to pass through my iGPU (Intel i5, 12th Gen) to a VM:

- I checked the box for my iGPU under Tools/System Devices

- I shut down all VMs and Dockers, stopped the array, and hit the reboot from the dashboard screen.

After the server was inaccessible for 30mins I reckoned there was a problem so I attached a monitor to the server and rebooted using the physical button.

The boot process seems to get stuck at "mount: overlay mounted on /lib"

There is an error above about "efivars", but that's all.

Any suggestions how to recover?

Since the GPU is being passed through, it will stop showing the output during boot, and get stuck on the last image, this is normal, and not necessarily a problem, but if you cannot reach the server, delete/rename /config/vfio-pci.cfg to getthe iGPU back.

Thanks so much JorgeB.

I left it alone and did something else for a few hours - now I'm back at my desk, the server login screen is there!

I don't know how long the boot took, but it got there in the end - any idea as to why the boot time might be extended?

Also it good to know where to go if there are future issues. Thanks for that, too.
