Share folder “upgrade” to ZFS dataset mistake!! All share data missing

Featured Replies

I thought I was doing the right thing… :’(

I think I just accidentally created datasets over the top of unraid shares I transferred to my zfs cache disk.

They were presenting as folders in the ZFS Master plugin. I clicked create dataset, clicked on the name of the share under the drop down, and clicked create. Now, all the data inside the share is gone!!!

Is there any way to reverse this? or am I missing something?

Thanks for your help legends

I seem to have worked it out. The directory is still there. There appears to be 2 folders with the same name. If I remount the zfs dataset with an alternate name, then I can see the original. Should I change the mountpoint of each share, then move into new one?

You can just destroy the new datasets, then would recommend asking in the plugin support thread for help to see what went wrong, it should do that without creating issues.
