February 8, 20251 yr I have a Windows 11 Home installation that started complaining about not having security for my mapped drive to my unraid server. So, I used the credentials I used for a Windows 11 Pro installation as per the following: Just adding the credentials allows me to map the drive...which I then cannot access when I reboot. The error is "Y:\ is not accessible. The user name or password is not correct." If I try to access using the correct user name and password, by going to the network folder on Windows Explorer and accessing the server, this is what I get: I have to remove the mapped drive, log into the server via the same way I just did, then remap the drive. That works...until I reboot. So, I tried disabling SMB signing requirement as per the above thread. Which is here too: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/filecab/accessing-a-third-party-nas-with-smb-in-windows-11-24h2-may-fail/4154300 Does not work. I still have to remap the drive with every reboot. What else can I do?

February 23, 20251 yr Author Sorry for my delay. I have a daughter in a psychiatric hospital and negative time to do anything. For instance, my (yesterday) Saturday: work out in home "gym" for an hour; meet contractor replacing garage door that daughter backed into; cleaned up basement because I couldn't do it until then; helped contractor put bottom rubber seal on 2 other garage doors and paid him; swept up garage because all cars were out; ate breakfast/lunch; quick nap; went to high school to help build a set for 3 hours; met daughter and wife for dinner; came back to call other daughter who is in the psychiatric hospital; went to bed. ALL of my weekends are like this. I have very litte time to do any debugging. This morning, I used the computer that has this problem to balance my checkbook. I checked the windows credentials, and I only have the new one I just put in. Is there anything else I can do? Thank you. But I won't be able to try anything for at least a week.

March 8, 20251 yr Author Sorry, I have one daughter who just went from a psychiatric hospital to a longer term care facility, and another daughter who is in a show about to start at school. I can't find any time to do anything really. This is killing me. I have to remove the mapping of the drive every time, then go to the unraid server, reenter my password, and then remap the drive. Windows does not seem to be saving the credentials. I have tried other techniques for this, and can't figure out anything that works. Reinstalling windows is a multiple day process. I have so much software on this machine. And right now, I don't have any time, let alone multiple days. Is there no way to get Windows to store the credentials?
March 11, 20251 yr Author What I had to do was go to Credentials Manager and remove all the credentials other than the windows credential for the unraid server. Then I "Edit" that, and reentered the password and saved it again. This has seemed to work.
