February 13, 20251 yr I am using syslog server and have enabled log rotation with the following settings: I have discovered the log file is not rotating every 2MB and is currently 98MB. Am i misunderstanding how the above settings work? I would think that every time the file size hits the 2MB threshold size, it would stop and create a new one, and on and on and on. November 4, 2025Nov 4 Author Solution Well it has been awhile, but I may have finally solved my issue. Log was continuing not to rotate. Here it what changed.I upgraded to ver.7.2 on Sunday, which went fine by the way, and while looking around on Monday to make sure all is well and what might be new for my setup, I see a warning that i have "Share name contains restricted character(s)". When i changed 'Syslog Server' to 'Syslog_Server' the log rotated at the scheduled time this morning. Ill continue to watch as it will take awhile to reach the 2MB threshold again and update if it fails again. So for now I will mark this as solved.
