New Config 7.0.0 too

Featured Replies

I wanted to remove a drive from my array 1 parity drive, 2 data drive setup, so I selected new config but I didn't preserve current assignments. I followed the article here but inadvertently made my data drive part of a dual parity setup and the drive I wanted to remove as a data drive and then started the array. Now the data drive is unmountable. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't tell what you have now since the array wasn't started when you took those diagnostics.

Are you sure you have the drives assigned correctly now?

When you started the array after New Config, did you perhaps check the Parity Valid box? Or did you let it start to rebuild parity?

I think I started the array twice. The first time I may have started it with "Parity Valid" checked. The second time, I think I unchecked it.

I think so. If I've done a backup of the USB prior to this, is there a way that will help?

zip the config folder from that backup and post it

I can't find a good recent back. Assuming I've got the drives correctly setup, should I be able to see data? Do you think that when I mounted it a second time with the wrong configuration the data is lost?

If you assigned a data disk as parity and started the array, the data on the data disk could be gone, depending in part on how long the parity sync ran, the data on the other disks will be fine.

Might be best to restore from backup I think.
