Trouble with accessing network shares in Windows 11

Featured Replies

I have a Tiny11 VM running on my Unraid Server. Everything works perfectly fine, apart from the fact that i cannot for the life of me access either of my two unraid servers' network shares in Windows Explorer from inside the VM. Neither the ones on the Server running the VM, nor my second one's.

I can, however, access the shares from any other computer inside the network perfectly fine.

Both Servers show up in Windows Explorer's Network tab, but double clicking them gives me the error message "couldnt access \\Server", with the error code 0x80070035

If i enter "net use Z: \\192.168.1.91\Server /user:USER " via command prompt, I can mount the drive and use it until i shutdown the VM

Im all out of ideas, things I've tried are:

- disabling Firewall and microsoft defender

- enabling SMB1

- entering the servers IP in windows explorer (works after mounting the drive via cmd, though not before)

- enabling insecure Guest auth

- enabling NetBios over TCP/IP

none of these changed anything.

I have also tried just about every combination of network settings inside unraid. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

In yhat case suggest that you reinstall Windows.

I have since done that, and decided to install the full, official Win11 Version instead of tiny11.

However, i have exactly the same issue still. The Servers show up, but i cant access them - Network path not found.

I might just wait for the next unraid update and hope that fixes it. Its just confusing that noone else seems to have this issue

Not really, since a new Windows 11 24H2 works fine, as long as you do the changes linked above, assuming there are no config issues with Unraid also
